Eliot Siegel GalleryEliot Siegel
Born 23rd October, 1958
Living in London

Photography changed my life at the age of 14, when I found that I could organise the world into simple rectangular frames as I saw fit, without constraint. I admired the works of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Lee Friedlander and Gary Winogrand amonst others and was determined, in spite of family protestation against, to make a life of it.

I went to university to be with like-minded individuals that I could learn and share ideas with and understand the value of criticism. University was a way to become focused, identify and fine-tune the ideas that would eventually become my new language.

I moved to Milan, Paris, Madrid, Nice, New York and back to London. I have photographed all these places and many more. Photography has become my international language of choice.

I'd like to think I have some things to say, but I'll leave that for you to decide.
